About the position

Mount Indie is seeking a Network Engineer to support the Air Force Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) Wave 1 initiative, focusing on enhancing the EITaaS IT Service Management offerings for SIPR. The role involves being the subject matter expert in network infrastructure and switching within a secure data center, ensuring effective SIPRnet network operations through troubleshooting and project management. The engineer will define network requirements for new products and contribute to technical documentation, implementation plans, and budget submissions.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical teams in investigating and implementing technology solutions for SIPRnet network operations.
• Create and define network requirements for new products and document all relevant processes and technologies.
• Develop implementation plans and procedures for changes in network infrastructure.
• Contribute to the submission of plans, budgets, and forecasts, including Change Management submittals.

Requirements

• 10+ years' experience working with Cisco technology.
• Experience deploying and managing cloud-based network services and monitoring tools at IL-6.
• Strong technical background in Data Center technologies including servers, storage, virtualization, networking, and infrastructure management.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, F5, and Palo Alto technologies.
• Project management skills for setting up and executing projects, including vendor management and statement of work creation.
• Knowledge of Cloud Architecture and Air Force SIPRnet network operations.
• Ability to lead technical teams.
• Security+ and Computing Environment certification required (ideally CCNP) to meet DoD 8140 Compliance.
• Must have Active Secret Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• CCNP certification is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration within a high-energy team.
• Experience with Cisco switching and routing, Visio for network architecture, F5, VMWare, Microsoft, Citrix, Cisco VOIP, Cisco ISE, Splunk, Palo Alto, security appliances, firewalls, IDS/IPS.
• Familiarity with Air Force policies and environments.
