About the position

Russell Square (RS) is a multi-state developer and licensed general contractor with employees currently based in five states in the western half of the United States. We specialize in multifamily development and are responsible for all phases of the real estate development process from site selection to lease-up. Our current pipeline consists of 2300+ apartments slated to begin construction over the coming 14 months in various states. Responsibilities

  • Provides project team with guidance and keeps current on all health and safety regulations and confirms project site fulfills industry, local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.
  • Develops, plans, and conducts training and coaching on preventative care, safety standards, and project policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with project team to develop and oversee Emergency Action Plans, Site Specific Safety Plans, and Pre-Task Plans, and serves as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
  • Utilizes digital platforms, tools and systems for tracking and trending EH&S metrics and activities and creates EH&S plans and reporting documentation.
  • Responsible for submitting reports and communicating performance to all affected groups.
  • Receives, tracks, and maintains all EH&S related documentation (Daily reports, orientations, incident reports, training records, subcontractor safety plans, pre-task plans, etc.).
  • Identifies potential risks related to operations and project execution.
  • Reports on the status of projects to project team and executive leadership.
  • Participates in team meetings and provides regular on-site full-time project presence.
  • Maintains safety training certifications and stays current with industry trends.
  • Manages Site Logistics Plan and collaborates with Project Manager & Superintendent to make updates to site Logistics Plan.
  • Reports to Superintendent and manages material deliveries and storage.
  • Coordinates various material acceptance and inspections and maintains an inspection log.
  • Files truck delivery receipts and coordinates laydown areas and material tracking.
  • Coordinates organization and cleanup of site and buildings.
  • Manages site entrances and assists on site security planning/implementation.
  • Assists with managing TESC and dust control with subcontractor performing scope.
  • Assists with managing coordination and requirements for traffic control.
  • Coordinates and implements construction parking procedures.
  • Ability to drive and operate a forklift.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred in Environmental Health and Safety, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in large scale commercial, government, or industrial sectors.
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety and Industry Standards.
  • Familiarity with DOE 10 CFR Part 851 highly desirable.
  • Building and construction knowledge and reviewing for EH&S risks and exposures during all phases of a project.
  • CSP - Certified Safety Professional - Preferred.
