About The Position

The Site Assistant at the Family Day Center plays a crucial role in providing direct housing and sheltering support to families at the ARCHES Project sites in Polk and Marion counties. This position involves supporting daily operations, including cleaning, laundry services, clerical duties, and assisting clients in navigating resources. The role requires effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients and ensure their safety and well-being.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of relevant social services experience, including work with children, youth, or families.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and best practices in homeless service delivery.
• Valid driver license and insured vehicle available for use on the job.
• Basic Life Support/First Aid Certification required within first 30 days of hire.
• Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of or experience working with homeless or vulnerable populations.
• Basic proficiencies in computers, MS Office products, and database software.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations including cleaning and laundry services.
• Perform clerical duties and data collection & entry.
• Assist clients with navigation to resources.
• Engage with clients and provide supportive services.
• Facilitate access to guest onsite services.
• Employ de-escalation techniques during client incidents.
• Participate in community outreach to local organizations.
• Attend and engage in required annual trainings.
• Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and coworkers.
