As a Site Civil Engineer II at Actalent, you will play a pivotal role in managing civil engineering projects while collaborating closely with project managers. Your responsibilities will include leading a team of engineers to ensure the successful completion of plan design and production for various civil engineering projects. This encompasses the preparation of design documents and permits for site plans, utility plans and profiles, road design, grading plans, and right-of-way plans, utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D software. You will be instrumental in establishing the standards for the technical design content of documentation throughout all phases of the design process, coordinating with other disciplines, including consultants, and ensuring internal quality assurance through effective quality control measures. In this role, you will provide leadership and mentorship to other civil engineers, fostering a strong customer focus while growing the business. You will manage multiple projects from inception to completion, ensuring they remain within scope, schedule, and budget. This includes leading project teams, assigning duties to team members, and monitoring overall project progress. You will develop comprehensive reports and deliverables for the full design phase, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, technical reports, narratives, and permit applications. Additionally, you will assist in preparing calculations and analyses for stormwater management systems, sanitary sewer, water supply and distribution, roadways, and traffic signal design. Field investigations will also be part of your responsibilities, allowing you to diagnose problems effectively. You will perform field inspection services to ensure conformance to plans and specifications, followed by the preparation of detailed reports. Participation in public meetings and consultations with regulatory agencies will be required as necessary. You will leverage design software and technology, including AutoCAD 3D, EPANET, MicroStation, and other emerging technologies for both presentation and production purposes. Furthermore, you will prepare engineering proposals and provide insights on anticipated complexity, budget, and hours needed to complete work, aiding in the generation of proposals for new projects.
