About the position

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a motivated Site/Civil Engineer-in-Training to join our dynamic team in Maryland, focusing on solar projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in civil engineering design and calculations for various components of land development projects, including site grading, erosion and sedimentation control, and water, wastewater, and stormwater management. As part of our Site/Civil team, you will participate in technical studies, utilize AutoCAD for design work, and prepare specifications and technical plans that meet industry standards. In this role, you will be involved in the permitting process, providing essential support for construction administration, including field observation reports. You will also be responsible for scheduling and preparing project cost estimates and timelines, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within budget. Responsibilities

  • Perform civil engineering design and calculations for site grading, erosion and sedimentation control, and water, wastewater, and stormwater components of land development projects.
  • Participate in technical studies and AutoCAD-based design, preparation of specifications, and technical plans.
  • Assist in permitting applications and processing.
  • Provide construction administration support, including field observation reports.
  • Schedule and prepare project cost estimates and schedules.

Requirements

  • EIT certification required or the ability to obtain it within 1 year.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in civil engineering or related field.
  • Strong technical and professional communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with solar projects or renewable energy initiatives.
  • Familiarity with ISO compliance requirements.
  • Ability to conduct site visits and gather data effectively.
