We are seeking a Site Civil Engineer to assist in the design and construction of municipal water and wastewater projects for our clients. Responsibilities

  • Performing civil engineering work in water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure, focused on site design project components including site layout, yard piping, roadways, paving and grading, and stormwater infrastructure
  • Conceptual and preliminary design activities including site visits, overseeing fieldwork, alternatives analysis, and report preparation
  • Hydraulic calculations and/or modeling
  • Permitting and alternative analysis
  • Assist with coordinating sub-consultant work
  • Preparation of technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables
  • Review contractor submittals for conformance with contract plans and specifications and evaluate requests for information as part of engineering services during construction
  • Provide engineering services during construction
  • Participate in field activities and site reconnaissance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field
  • 0 to 4 years of directly-relevant experience in civil/site development
  • Engineer-in-Training Certification (EIT)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to develop options and recommendations to solve technical problems
  • Ability to develop working drawings for civil site plans (layout, piping, grading, drainage, and paving) from sketches (determines scales, layout, and need for specific detail)
  • Experience with the planning and design of facility layout and site design projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with local utility codes and utility permitting process
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic calculations/modeling software for stormwater management (StormWise™, InfoSWMM, HEC-RAS)
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Experience with Environmental Resource Permits
