About the position

Dewberry is seeking a Site/Civil Project Engineer to support major public and institutional clients in their Fairfax, Virginia office. This role involves civil design and land development activities, including grading, storm water management, soil erosion and sediment control, roadways, storm drainage, and utility design. The selected candidate will join a growing team that provides comprehensive site/civil services to public sector clients, contributing to innovative and complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and coordination of all site/civil design aspects.
• Work closely with the Project Manager in a team environment.
• Mentor entry-level staff and interns in the use of Civil3D.
• Prepare construction documents (plans and specifications) and technical reports; oversee engineering analyses, cost estimates, and quality control/quality assurance.
• Implement regulatory requirements and design standards.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the design and execution of Civil Infrastructure Projects.
• FE certification required.
• Experience in preparation of graphics, exhibits, and Site/Civil Construction Plans.
• Strong technical capabilities in software applications including AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Excel, MS Word, and Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
