About the position

Dewberry is seeking a Site/Civil Project Engineer for its Danville, VA office, focusing on land development projects. The role involves civil design and land development activities, requiring a minimum of three years of relevant experience. The engineer will work on various projects from concept to completion, including design work, plan processing, and construction phase services, while collaborating with a team of professionals.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and coordination of Land Development design aspects.
• Work closely with Project Managers and jurisdictional staff.
• Mentor junior staff.
• Client communication, construction document preparation, and technical reports preparation.
• Conduct engineering analyses and monitor project milestones and completion dates.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience in Land Development Projects; five or more years preferred.
• PE in the State of Virginia preferred.
• Experience with Virginia land development projects preferred.
• Strong technical capabilities in software applications including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong understanding of civil site design for development and redevelopment projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in feasibility and site due diligence efforts.
• Familiarity with Dewberry engineering practices and standards.
