About the position

As a Site/Civil Project Engineer at KCI Technologies, Inc., you will play a crucial role in the design and execution of land development projects. This position requires a strong foundation in civil engineering principles, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. You will be responsible for preparing engineering plans, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software, and will conduct site visits to gather necessary information and ensure compliance with local regulations and standards. Your role will also involve coordinating with various teams to obtain necessary permits and approvals, as well as providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. In this position, you will utilize your strong organizational and scheduling skills to track project progress and deliverables, providing regular updates to stakeholders. Effective communication and collaboration with clients and team members will be essential to understand project requirements and objectives. You will also assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies, ensuring that all aspects of the projects align with client expectations and industry standards. Responsibilities

  • Design and prepare deliverables for multiple land development projects simultaneously, ensuring successful completion within defined timelines and budgets.
  • Utilize strong organizational and scheduling skills to effectively track project progress and deliverables, providing regular updates to project stakeholders.
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Prepare and review engineering plans, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information and ensure project compliance with local regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and clearances for project execution.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in engineering techniques and technologies.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for future collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Strong proficiency in using Civil 3D AutoCAD software.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in site civil engineering, preferably in Maryland.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex engineering concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing engineering plans, reports, and documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and design standards in Maryland and Washington, DC.
  • Knowledge of construction practices, materials, and methods.
