About the position

Dewberry is seeking a Site/Civil Project Engineer to join its Land Development operation. This role involves civil design for land development activities, including grading, storm water management, and roadway design. The engineer will work closely with senior project managers and agency staff, supervising junior staff and ensuring project milestones are met. The position is open in various Maryland offices, with some travel expected to other Dewberry locations.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and coordination of all Land Development design aspects.
  • Work closely with Senior Project Manager and agency staff.
  • Supervise internal junior staff.
  • Client communication, budget oversight, and responsibility.
  • Preparation and oversight of construction documents and technical reports.
  • Conduct engineering analyses, cost estimates, and quality control/quality assurance.
  • Monitor project milestones and completion dates.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • EIT required or eligible to obtain within 6 months.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Land Development Projects in the Baltimore and Washington DC metro area.
  • Experience in preparation of graphics, exhibits, and Site/Civil Construction Plans.
  • Strong technical capabilities in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong understanding of civil site design for various sectors including retail and commercial.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D or other model-based software is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to become proficient in Dewberry engineering practices and software.
