About the position

The Site Controller at Constellation is responsible for overseeing and supporting various accounting functions within the corporate accounting operation and business unit accounting operations. This role involves producing accurate and timely financial statements, supporting business units in financial transactions, and collaborating with other departments to ensure proper accounting activities. The Site Controller plays a crucial role in the financial reporting process and ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support various accounting functions within corporate and business unit accounting operations.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial statements for the corporation and its subsidiaries.
  • Prepare account reconciliations for the corporation's entities and accounts.
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for corporate entities, including analysis of current actual results to prior period results.
  • Support the implementation of changes in GAAP and interact with auditors and business units as required.
  • Contribute to the accounting, analysis, and budgeting of various accounts.
  • Consult and liaise with operating unit finance personnel on accounting issues.
  • Partake in special projects and requests for the Controller's Group.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in accounting, finance, or general business administration.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Commitment to the highest standards of quality and integrity.
  • Strong financial, mathematical, and analytical capabilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and team working capabilities.
  • General knowledge of accounting systems and technology.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA in Finance, Accounting, or Economics and/or CPA or other financial certification.
  • Public Accounting and/or Utility experience.
  • Experience with Financial Statement Consolidations and/or Derivative Accounting.
