About the position

The Site Controller at Constellation is responsible for overseeing and supporting various accounting functions within the corporate accounting operation and business unit accounting operations. This role involves producing accurate and timely financial statements, supporting business units in financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Site Controller will collaborate with other departments and business units to ensure accurate financial transactions and reporting, contributing to the overall financial health of the corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of the corporation's monthly financial statement close process, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Prepare account reconciliations for the corporation's entities and accounts.
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for corporate entities, including analysis of current actual results compared to prior periods for Board and Senior Management reporting.
  • Support the implementation of changes in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and interact with auditors and business units as required.
  • Contribute to the accounting, analysis, and budgeting of various accounts.
  • Consult and liaise with operating unit finance personnel on accounting issues.
  • Participate in special projects and requests for the Controller's Group.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in accounting, finance, or general business administration.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Strong commitment to quality and integrity in work.
  • Internal accounting controls acumen.
  • Solid financial, mathematical, and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and team working capabilities.
  • General knowledge of accounting systems and technology.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA in Finance, Accounting, or Economics and/or CPA or other financial certification.
  • Public Accounting and/or Utility experience.
  • Experience with Financial Statement Consolidations and/or Derivative Accounting.
