About the position

As a Site Controller with The Modal Shop, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the accounting operations of the company. This includes the preparation of periodic financial reports, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records, and implementing a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. Your efforts will enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). You will be responsible for ensuring that all accounting transactions conform to established financial policies and practices, particularly those set forth by PCB Piezotronics. This role is pivotal in ensuring SOX compliance for all accounting transactions, and you will oversee the monthly close process, ensuring that reporting follows established procedures and timelines. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will supervise a team of two or more members in the daily execution of accounting functions. Your leadership will be essential in managing fixed assets and depreciation schedules, as well as developing and coordinating the operational functions of the accounting department. You will oversee all accounting activities, including cash, investment, and asset management, while establishing and formulating internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and best practices. You will also coordinate and complete annual audits, monitor and analyze accounting data, and produce financial reports and statements for review by the leadership team on a monthly and quarterly basis. Your role will also involve developing and documenting business processes and accounting procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls. You will utilize the accounting IT system (Syteline) to facilitate processes and maintain records, manage intercompany reconciliation and reporting, and have oversight responsibility for TMS inventory, including work-in-progress (WIP), raw materials, and finished goods. Collaborating with the Production Team Leader, you will work to optimize inventory utilization by establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive the best utilization of inventory to maximize on-time delivery and customer service. Continuous improvement of the data provided will be essential to support service and sales growth. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns for various states and working with the leadership team to develop the annual operating budget.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate operational functions of the accounting department, overseeing cash, investment, and asset management activities.
  • Establish internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and best practices, and coordinate annual audits.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data, producing financial reports and statements for leadership review.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting procedures to strengthen internal controls.
  • Utilize accounting IT system (Syteline) to facilitate processes and maintain records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
