About the position

The Site Coordinator for the After School Program at Burlington Public Schools for the 2024/2025 school year is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the program at the school level. This position reports directly to the Program Director and Assistant Director, ensuring that the program operates smoothly and effectively. The Site Coordinator will manage a team that includes Teachers, Assistants, and Volunteers, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes the developmental needs of students. In this role, the Site Coordinator will coordinate, supervise, and manage both the After School and Summer Programs, ensuring compliance with EEC regulations and the policies of Burlington Public Schools. The Coordinator will oversee the implementation of a curriculum that provides high-quality, age-appropriate activities that cater to the diverse needs of all students. Daily program schedules must be effectively implemented, with regular reporting to the Directors on the program's effectiveness. The Site Coordinator is also responsible for the recruitment and training of staff, ensuring that all personnel are adequately prepared to meet the needs of the students. Safety is a top priority, and the Coordinator must follow appropriate emergency protocols while maintaining student safety at all times. Administrative duties include maintaining enrollment and attendance records, managing communication with parents, and participating in professional development opportunities. The role requires a strong understanding of children's developmental stages and the ability to work collaboratively with school employees to support student needs. The Site Coordinator will also assist in program evaluation and budget management, ensuring that the program remains effective and financially viable. This position is essential for creating a positive and enriching environment for students in the After School Program.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the After School Program at the school level.
  • Coordinate, supervise, and manage the After School and Summer Programs in consultation with the Assistant Director and Director of Childcare Services.
  • Ensure compliance with EEC regulations and Burlington Public Schools policies.
  • Oversee the implementation of curriculum and ensure high-quality, age-appropriate activities.
  • Report on the effectiveness of daily programs and schedules to the Directors.
  • Ensure the developmental needs of every student are met.
  • Recruit and train teachers, assistants, and aides.
  • Ensure student safety and follow emergency protocols.
  • Maintain current enrollment and daily attendance records.
  • Assist with staff and program evaluation and the annual registration process.
  • Coordinate communication with parents of program participants.
  • Maintain accurate information on student program participants.
  • Participate in professional development, including trainings, meetings, and workshops.
  • Attend Site Coordinator Meetings.
  • Maintain a cooperative relationship with school employees and work collaboratively for student needs.
  • Work with directors to maintain the program budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience working with school-age children.
  • Familiarity with EEC regulations.
  • Experience in faculty recruitment and screening preferred.
  • Experience in developing children's program development and enrichment programs.
