About the position
The Site Coordinator will assist the Site Manager in managing, maintaining, and monitoring a Head Start and/or Early Head Start program site in compliance with state and federal guidelines. This role involves providing supervision, support, and coaching to staff while ensuring the health and safety of children and families. The Site Coordinator will also engage with parents and caregivers, advocate for low-income individuals, and participate in professional development activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist Site Manager in managing Head Start and Early Head Start program site(s).
- Implement and manage developmentally appropriate programming at the center level.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines and program policies.
- Ensure daily health and safety of children, families, and staff.
- Assist in ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and coaching of the site and lesson plans.
- Participate in Federal Review Audits and Self Assessments.
- Review classroom activities to ensure diversity and positive self-image of children.
- Encourage parent/caregiver engagement in the child's education and site activities.
- Generate non-federal match value through program activities and collaborations.
- Maintain a positive attitude towards assigned work, clients, and staff.
- Further professional development by attending relevant meetings and completing required hours.
- Advocate for low-income people in the community and assist clients in securing services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in a second language is a plus.
- Knowledge of child care licensing regulations.
- Proficient knowledge of internet applications and programs including Google technology and Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and professional skills.
