About the position

The Site Manager at Univar Solutions is responsible for overseeing the safe, legal, efficient, and environmentally sound operations of the branches in the region. This role involves direct support and guidance to Branch Operations Managers and Regional Operations Staff, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards while also assisting in sales and purchasing activities. The Site Manager acts as a liaison between clients and site teams, coordinating efforts to achieve safety, regulatory compliance, and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily safe, efficient, legal and economical operation of all Field Service department activities.
  • Manage, direct, and support local on-site team.
  • Oversee compliance with corporate policy on health and safety, environmental affairs and operations standards at the local level.
  • Serve as a liaison between client, site managers, and site technicians.
  • Work with ChemCare Account Manager, Field Service Manager, Project Manager to identify and secure new project opportunities on client campuses.
  • Maintain communication with drivers, disposal/recycling sites, and ChemCare shippers for shipments and waste opportunities.
  • Train ChemCare staff and site technicians to customer safety and procedures.
  • Supervise all shipments to ensure safety and procedural adherence to SOP.
  • Manage documents for shipments including manifest.
  • Work with customer, on-site techs, and safety department to develop, and maintain SOP's for all job tasks.
  • Responsible for maintenance, upkeep, and housekeeping of ChemCare equipment and field service fleet.
  • Maintain close security and control over physical operations equipment.
  • Work closely with ChemCare Project Manager/Field Services Manager to oversee personnel development, hiring, promoting and termination within ChemCare Field Services department locations.
  • Work with corporate human resources to manage drug testing and medical surveillance program including HASAP program.
  • Participate in equipment specifications/annual capital expense requests for following year budget.
  • Consult on environmental projects.
  • Implement training criteria and miscellaneous training for field technicians.
  • Participate in the emergency response team as requested.
  • Responsible for accurate reporting of labor hours for accurate customer billing.
  • Manage company quality process at local level.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in hazardous waste operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of ChemCare field service operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of governmental requirements related to the chemical industry (OSHA, EPA, RCRA, DOT).
  • HazMat certified, Hazwoper Certified.
