About the position

The Site Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the MRO storeroom, ensuring proper inventory levels, analyzing spending for cost savings, and implementing storeroom improvements. This role involves recruiting, training, and developing staff, while also collaborating with corporate departments on procurement and vendor management. The Site Manager aims to enhance customer satisfaction through strong relationships and excellent service, achieving key performance metrics related to cost savings, compliance, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Supervise all aspects of MRO and storeroom management operations.
  • Manage daily activities of direct reports, including performance management and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with client contracts and manage client relationships effectively.
  • Execute purchasing in a cost-effective manner and maintain data integrity in management systems.
  • Work with senior management to implement strategic plans and prioritize tasks.
  • Train employees and monitor performance, providing coaching and support.
  • Recruit new staff and follow recruiting SOPs.
  • Monitor and manage storeroom inventory levels and implement reduction programs.
  • Prepare and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly reports, initiating corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with other Site Buyers and Managers to leverage resources and share opportunities.
  • Build successful vendor relationships to achieve better pricing and savings.
  • Utilize standard operating procedures to improve processes and increase quality.
  • Create invoices and follow up on accounts receivable as needed.
  • Enhance customer programs and establish effective communication with key managers.
  • Develop knowledge of customer operations to enhance program offerings.
  • Keep staff updated with site and company information.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in purchasing and managing MRO commodities.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • CPM/APICS certification desirable.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Procurement or CMMS and/or EAM Software.
  • Experience in supply chain management and sourcing.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, receiving, and shipping processes.
  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and overseeing a P&L.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to manage expectations.
  • Strong organizational skills and flexibility.
  • Ability to multi-task while paying attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of advanced inventory management techniques.
