About the position

The Site Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the MRO storeroom, ensuring proper inventory levels, analyzing spending for cost savings, and implementing storeroom improvements. This role involves recruiting, training, and developing staff, while also collaborating with various corporate departments to manage procurement, invoicing, and vendor payments. The Site Operations Manager aims to enhance customer satisfaction through strong relationships and excellent service, while achieving key performance metrics related to cost savings, compliance, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Supervise all aspects of MRO and storeroom management operations, including customer service and inventory control.
  • Manage daily activities of direct reports, including performance management and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and negotiate stock guarantees with Category Managers.
  • Manage client relationships and resolve quality and delivery issues through effective communication.
  • Oversee purchasing operations and maintain data integrity within management systems.
  • Collaborate with senior management to implement strategic plans and prioritize tasks.
  • Train employees on job responsibilities and monitor performance, providing coaching and support.
  • Recruit new staff in collaboration with HR and follow recruiting SOPs.
  • Monitor and manage storeroom inventory levels and implement reduction programs.
  • Prepare and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly reports, analyzing results for process improvements.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other Site Buyers and Managers to leverage resources.
  • Follow corporate guidelines for supplier programs and collaborate with supply chain partners.
  • Conduct periodic KPI reporting and performance reviews with clients.
  • Build relationships with local vendors to achieve better pricing and explore savings opportunities.
  • Utilize standard operating procedures to improve processes and increase quality.
  • Create invoices and follow up on past-due accounts receivable.
  • Enhance customer programs through effective communication and relationship building.
  • Develop knowledge of customer operations to improve service offerings.
  • Stay updated with site and company information.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in purchasing and managing MRO commodities.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • CPM/APICS certification desirable.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Procurement or CMMS and/or EAM Software.
  • Experience in supply chain management and sourcing.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, receiving, and shipping processes.
  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and overseeing a P&L.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to manage expectations.
  • Strong organizational skills and flexibility.
  • Ability to multi-task while paying attention to detail.
