Responsibilities

  • Establishing and shaping the purchasing department of the first manufacturing plant of the PAPIER-METTLER Group in the United States
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective, availability and high-quality raw materials, equipment, and services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and supporting departments on corporate level to ensure seamless supply chain operations
  • Analyze and manage inventory levels to optimize working capital and production efficiency
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, fostering partnerships that align with the company's values and quality standards
  • Monitor market trends, assess supplier performance, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Process entire purchase orders efficiently and accurately through the company's ERP system and perform the clerical duties in purchase

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience (2+ years) of purchasing in a manufacturing environment desired
  • Absolute reliability and exemplary time management
  • Savvy and determined negotiator with experience in contract law
  • Self-managed and strong problem-solving skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail and outstanding organization skills
  • Positive working attitude, hand's-on mentality and strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and M/S office
  • The position requires daily office work at the Moorefield site
