About the position

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for Ad Platforms at Apple is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical ad-tech systems. This role involves collaborating with developers and architects to enhance system stability and security while maintaining high uptime and operational efficiency. The SRE will implement monitoring solutions, engage in incident management, and drive improvements in service operability, ultimately contributing to a seamless user experience in advertising.

Responsibilities

• Implement and improve infrastructure and application monitoring and observability capabilities.
• Engage with application engineering teams to enhance service operability and reliability.
• Drive production readiness and improve capacity planning, configuration management, and observability.
• Design and improve architectures of new and existing systems for reliability and high availability.
• Develop expertise in Apple Infrastructure and apply best practices to Ad Platforms.
• Create tooling and automation to enhance operations and infrastructure operability.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience supporting internet-facing production services and distributed systems.
• Good programming skills in Java, Python, or Go.
• Experience with DataDog and/or Prometheus.
• Experience operating Linux-based systems with a solid understanding of its internals.
• Experience with container platforms like Kubernetes.
• Experience building and running infrastructures on AWS, including EKS and MSK services.
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience leading deep-dive troubleshooting of production issues.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
• Ad-Tech experience.
