About the position

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Associate role at SMBC Group focuses on building and maintaining cloud infrastructure for financial business applications. The position aims to ensure system availability, performance, and security while driving infrastructure automation and efficiency. The SRE team collaborates closely with application development teams to facilitate rapid deployment and operations, supporting the growth of the business through reliable infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for applications.
  • Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure repeatable infrastructure provisioning and system-wide redundancy.
  • Gather requirements from application teams to create technical specifications for cloud infrastructure and automated deployment processes.
  • Document the process for building the infrastructure and CI/CD pipeline, updating as needed.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and implement modifications to ensure stability and performance of the cloud environment.
  • Regularly monitor the performance of the infrastructure and pipeline to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Manage and update the code repository and configuration files to continuously improve the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Collaborate with application teams and stakeholders to understand their requirements for cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work with support and technical teams to resolve infrastructure and deployment-related issues.
  • Participate in team meetings to review priorities and goals for infrastructure and CI/CD pipeline development.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, networks, security, data management, and deployment tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Bash for coding automated scripts and infrastructure configurations.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and other development methodologies for managing cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of application requirements to recommend the best cloud solutions and deployment processes.
