About the position

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role is a critical position within our healthcare client’s organization, located in Charlotte, NC. The SRE will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance the reliability, scalability, and velocity of our systems. This role requires a deep understanding of coding strategies and languages, as well as the ability to work closely with customers on configuration management initiatives. The SRE will coordinate with various teams to build competencies in infrastructure, utilizing object-oriented programming and domain-specific languages for configuration management. In addition to coding and configuration management, the SRE will research and develop competencies in service mesh architecture, which is essential for modern distributed systems. The engineer will also be tasked with building platforms that teams can leverage to accelerate innovation, particularly in the areas of reliability and operational support. This includes providing operational support for the Continuous Feedback and Event Analytics platform, ensuring that our systems are not only functional but also optimized for performance and user experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving innovation in distributed system flow and resilience, as well as fostering a culture of continuous feedback and delivery. This role is pivotal in creating efficiencies and transforming the organizational culture through the curation of new systems and capabilities, making it a vital part of our technology strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Code strategies and languages by leveraging knowledge while working with customers on configuration management initiatives.
  • Coordinate and assist teams in building competencies with infrastructure using object-oriented programming and configuration management domain-specific language.
  • Research and develop competencies using service mesh architecture.
  • Build platforms that teams can leverage to accelerate innovation in the areas of reliability, scalability, and velocity.
  • Provide operational support for Continuous Feedback and Event Analytics platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Experience with software engineering, enterprise operations support, object-oriented programming, automation, and consulting with internal customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Programming in Python / JavaScript / GoLang / NodeJs
  • Systems fluency (Windows, Linux, storage, networking)
  • Observability systems (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, Dynatrace)
  • Modern software components (Mongo, MSSQL, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
  • Infrastructure and configuration automation (Powershell, Ansible, VMWare, RDM, VSCode)
  • Knowledge on DevOps and agile SAFE
  • Experience working on AWS/Azure/Google Cloud
  • Experience with monitoring solutions.
