About the position

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) position at a prominent entertainment company in the Atlanta area focuses on enhancing the delivery of streaming services through effective management of cloud-based systems. This role is a year-long contract opportunity that allows for a hybrid work arrangement, requiring in-office presence twice a week. The SRE will work primarily within a Google Cloud Platform environment, leveraging Kubernetes for deployment and management, and will play a crucial role in maintaining CI/CD pipelines and ensuring system reliability.

Responsibilities

• Manage cloud-based systems and services, primarily using Google Cloud Platform.
• Oversee Kubernetes deployment and management to ensure optimal performance.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments.
• Automate tasks related to both Kubernetes and non-Kubernetes environments.
• Contribute to high-level architectural decisions to enhance system reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing cloud-based systems and services, preferably in Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
• Proven experience with Kubernetes deployment and management.
• Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong automation skills for both Kubernetes and non-Kubernetes-related tasks.
• Ability to contribute to high-level architectural decisions.

• Local Atlanta-based candidates who can commute to the office weekly.
• A degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (or related field).
• Familiarity with Google Anthos or Rancher for monitoring and observability.
