About the position

The Site Reliability Engineer II (SRE) role focuses on delivering high-quality Office 365 government cloud services. The position requires a blend of software development skills and online service experience to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of critical services for enterprise and government customers. The SRE team is responsible for application architecture, system design, and end-to-end implementation, working collaboratively with other engineering teams to meet customer expectations and improve service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver the required software engineering to serve and protect O365 government cloud.
  • Own deployment, availability, reliability, performance, and customer escalation targets for sovereign environments.
  • Proactively identify and reduce issues through design, testing, and implementation of software-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Program Management partners to translate customer, business, and technical requirements into architectural design and feature releases.
  • Drive efficiencies through software improvement and root cause analysis resulting in service delivery, maturity, and scalability.
  • Work within a highly skilled team of engineers to deliver revolutionary improvements to the cloud and scale them.

Requirements

  • 4+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or system administration OR a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 1+ year technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or system administration OR a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Active TS security clearance and willingness to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and willingness to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph).
  • Successful verification of security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent industry internship or software engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with one or more general-purpose programming languages including Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell.
  • Experience with cloud technologies including O365, Azure, Windows, or other software/services.
  • Demonstrated ability to debug, fix, and optimize code.
  • Full-stack troubleshooting skills across network, application, hardware, management fabric, and distributed service layer.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
