About the position

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer II role focuses on enhancing the quality and performance of Office 365 government cloud services. This position requires a blend of software development expertise and online service experience to design and deliver high-quality solutions for critical customers. The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering teams to ensure system reliability and performance, while also addressing customer demands and expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and implement changes to optimize code and improve the platform.
  • Leverage end-to-end technical expertise and telemetry analysis to identify patterns and opportunities for configuration and data changes.
  • Review the effects of changes and document insights within the team.
  • Drive code/design reviews, host regular meetings, and participate in on-call rotation and incident response throughout product development and operation cycles.
  • Respond to incidents during regular on-call rotation and share details related to incidents and their resolution through post-mortem reports and regular review meetings.
  • Embody the company's culture and values.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or system administration.
  • OR a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field AND 1+ year of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or system administration.
  • OR a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Must meet security clearance requirements, including an active TS clearance and willingness to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph).

Nice-to-haves

  • 6+ years of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or system administration.
  • OR a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field AND 4+ years of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or system administration.
  • OR a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field AND 3+ years of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or system administration.
