About the position

Cox Automotive is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer II (SRE) to join the Manheim Logistics SRE team. This role focuses on designing and maintaining AWS infrastructure and deployment pipelines for over 15 development teams. The SRE team emphasizes automation, infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, and best practices in monitoring and alerting. The engineer will work closely with release trains to enhance software delivery and performance, ensuring reliability and efficiency in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain AWS infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
  • Standardize Docker-based infrastructure solutions.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Improve monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Define and manage service level objectives (SLOs) and error budgets.
  • Engage with engineering teams to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Automate recovery processes to reduce mean time to recovery (MTTR).
  • Develop software tools for application delivery and performance management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in software development.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Terraform.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Amazon AWS technologies, especially ECS and Lambda.
  • Experience with monitoring/observability tools such as New Relic, Splunk, or PagerDuty.
  • Experience with agile development and continuous integration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Broad AWS platform skills including Cognito, WAF, Elasticache, Elasticsearch, SNS, SQS, S3, and Systems Manager.
  • Experience automating Terraform at scale.
  • Experience with Database Server infrastructure (RDS, MySQL, Postgres).
  • .NET core development experience.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions and Linux administration.
