About the position

Equifax is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer Intern for a 12-week internship program based in Alpharetta, Georgia. This internship serves as a gateway to full-time career paths for current university students, providing them with meaningful projects that have a direct impact on the business. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and network with professionals in the field. The role requires interns to be in the office three days a week, specifically on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. This position is not open to candidates who will require sponsorship to work in the U.S. now or in the future. As a Site Reliability Engineer Intern, you will be part of an Agile team responsible for the design and development of micro-services for next-generation product implementations. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and unit testing code, fixing bugs, conducting code reviews, and creating technical documentation. You will develop Java/Springboot microservices code and frameworks under the guidance of more senior developers, validate technology capabilities in performance and scalability, and interface with internal development teams on large-scale, multi-tier product development. Additionally, you will collaborate with the engineering team to design and launch new features, understand the overall architecture of web applications, and ensure responsive design and development following best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of an Agile team responsible for design and development of micro-services for next generation product implementations.
  • Design, develop, and unit test code, fix bugs, conduct code reviews, and create technical documentation.
  • Develop Java/Springboot microservices code, frameworks, and patterns with guidance from senior developers.
  • Validate technology capabilities in areas such as performance, scalability, and capability.
  • Interface with internal development teams on large-scale, multi-tier product development.
  • Understand the overall architecture of the web application.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design and launch new features in Java/Springboot microservices or Angular.
  • Work with graphic designers to convert designs to visual elements.
  • Understand implementation of versioning, logging, auditing, and security frameworks.
  • Ensure responsive design and development following best practices.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other Technology-related field.
  • Expected graduation date in May/June 2026.
  • Experience or coursework in Java or Python or similar programming languages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with OOD/OOP design and patterns, primarily in the Java domain.
  • Experience with Microservices and cloud services and tools.
  • Strong analytical, structured problem solving, and decision making abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing project requirements and continuous feedback.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices and good software engineering practices.
