About the position

This 12-week Internship Program serves as a gateway to full-time career paths for current university students, providing them with meaningful projects that have a direct impact on our business. Interns will gain exposure to senior leaders and have opportunities to network within the organization. The focus of this internship is on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), a discipline that merges software and systems engineering to build and maintain large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. Interns will be involved in various aspects of the SRE role, including designing, implementing, and maintaining services in Google Cloud, ensuring that these services are monitored, logged, and alerting is set up from inception through deployment and operation. Interns will also be responsible for maintaining live services by measuring and monitoring their availability, latency, and overall system health. They will troubleshoot production issues in collaboration with customers and practice sustainable incident response and postmortems. Additionally, interns will participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems, build and manage systems, infrastructure, and applications through automation, and write code using programming and/or scripting languages. Effective communication with Operations and Product team members will also be a key part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain services in Google Cloud with monitoring, logging and alerting.
  • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
  • Troubleshoot production issues with our Customers and practice sustainable incident response and postmortems.
  • Be part of an on-call rotation to support production systems.
  • Build and manage systems, infrastructure and applications through automation.
  • Write code using programming and/or scripting languages.
  • Communicate with Operations and Product team members.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other Technology-related field.
  • Graduation date on or before May 2026.
  • Experience or coursework in Java or Python or similar programming languages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Cloud Services and/or GCP and general-purpose programming languages.
  • Knowledge in demonstrated interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices.
  • Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting complex solutions.
  • Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
  • Experience with algorithms, databases, networks, security, or software design.
  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing project requirements and continuous feedback.
