About the position

Kount, an Equifax company, is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer Intern to work out of our Boise, Idaho office from May 19, 2025, to August 8, 2025. This internship program is designed for current university students who are pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, with an expected graduation date of May 2026. The internship offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring interns to be present in the Boise office three days a week, specifically from Tuesday to Thursday. This 12-week internship serves as a gateway to full-time career paths, providing students with meaningful projects that have a direct impact on the business. Interns will have the opportunity to engage with senior leaders and network within the company. As part of an Agile team, interns will be responsible for the design and development of micro-services for next-generation product implementations. This includes tasks such as design, development, unit testing, bug fixes, code reviews, testing, and technical documentation. Interns will develop Java/Springboot microservices code, frameworks, and patterns under the guidance of more senior developers. They will validate technology capabilities in areas such as performance, scalability, and capability, and interface with internal development teams on large-scale, multi-tier product development. Understanding the overall architecture of the web application and collaborating with the engineering team to design and launch new features in Java/Springboot microservices or Angular will be key responsibilities. Additionally, interns will support the cloud engineering team by compiling and testing processes and building infrastructure before it goes into production.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of an Agile team responsible for design and development of micro-services for the next generation product implementations.
  • Develop Java/Springboot microservices code, frameworks, and patterns with guidance from more senior developers.
  • Validate technology capabilities in areas such as performance, scalability, and capability.
  • Interface with internal development teams on large-scale, multi-tier product development.
  • Understand the overall architecture of the web application.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and launch new features in Java/Springboot microservices or Angular.
  • Support the compiling and testing of the process and cloud engineering.
  • Support the building of the infrastructure of the teams before it's in production.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other Technology-related field.
  • Graduation date May/June 2026.
  • Experience or coursework in Java or Python or similar programming languages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Classes in Cloud Engineering and experience using AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
  • Experience with Terraform, Bash, Go, and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with OOD/OOP design and patterns, primarily in the Java domain.
  • Experience with Microservices and cloud services and tools.
  • Strong analytical, structured problem solving, and decision making abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing project requirements and continuous feedback.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices and good software engineering practices.
