About the position

At Equifax, the Summer 2025 Site Reliability Engineer 12-week Internship Program is designed for current university students pursuing their Bachelor's Degree. This program serves as a gateway to full-time career paths, providing interns with meaningful projects that have a direct impact on our business. Interns will gain exposure to senior leaders and have opportunities to network within the company. Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is a discipline that merges software and systems engineering, focusing on building and running large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. The internship will run from May 19, 2025, to August 8, 2025, and requires interns to adhere to a hybrid onsite policy, working onsite Monday through Wednesday, while Monday and Friday are designated as remote work days. Interns must be local to the Atlanta area and able to commute to our office in Alpharetta, GA, as living accommodations are not provided by Equifax. Additionally, we are only considering applicants who are pursuing their Bachelor's in Computer Science or another technology-related field, with a planned graduation date of May 2026. Sponsorship is not provided.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain services in Google Cloud with monitoring, logging and alerting from inception and design through deployment, operation and refinement.
  • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
  • Troubleshoot production issues with our Customers and practice sustainable incident response and postmortems.
  • Be part of an on-call rotation to support production systems.
  • Build and manage systems, infrastructure and applications through automation.
  • Write code using programming and/or scripting languages.
  • Communicate with Operations and Product team members.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other Technology-related field.
  • Completion of Bachelor's Degree coursework with a planned graduation date in May of 2026.
  • Must be local to the Atlanta area.
  • Experience or coursework in Java or Python or similar programming languages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Cloud Services and/or GCP and general-purpose programming languages.
  • Knowledge in demonstrated interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices.
  • Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting complex solutions.
  • Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
  • Experience with algorithms, databases, networks, security, or software design.
  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing project requirements and continuous feedback.
