About the position

The Associate Site Reliability Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing the AWS cloud deployment platform within a dynamic SRE/DevOps team. The focus will be on continuous improvement of deployment practices, automation, and security compliance, ensuring high reliability and efficiency in cloud operations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive team initiatives to continuously refine AWS deployment practices for improved reliability, repeatability, and security.
  • Work closely with development teams to automate deployment and configuration of infrastructure.
  • Design effective monitoring and alerting systems for application errors and resource usage, and implement log aggregation for troubleshooting and reporting.
  • Write code and scripts to automate provisioning of AWS services using tools like AWS CLI, Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Bash.
  • Configure build pipelines to support automated testing and deployments using Jenkins, CircleCI, and GitHub Actions.
  • Refine DevSecOps security practices in compliance with Health IT and government standards, using tools like AWS GuardDuty and SonarQube.
  • Document and diagram deployment-specific aspects of architectures and environments, collaborating with Software Engineers and DevOps teams.
  • Troubleshoot production issues using debugging techniques and log analysis.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Cloud administration experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) or 2+ years of software engineering experience in a modern language (Ruby, Java, Python).
  • Strong experience developing and deploying Docker Containers on Kubernetes.
  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
  • Recent experience with setup, configuration, and monitoring of RDBMS and NoSQL datastores.
  • Strong understanding of Linux administration including Bash scripting.
  • Experience in automation using Go or Python.
  • Experience with log aggregation tools such as Datadog, ELK, or Splunk.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or a similar field.
  • Experience in HIPAA/SOC 2 environments.
