About the position

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at MetroStar Systems, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the observability, performance, and reliability of our systems, particularly in the context of serving high-level government clients. Your primary focus will be on monitoring platform and containerized applications, identifying potential performance and availability risks, and addressing any issues that arise. You will work on the core platform to create and optimize all necessary functions to establish a robust platform infrastructure. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will be working closely with both your team and the customer on a daily basis to ensure that our systems meet the highest standards of reliability and performance. In this position, you will leverage your extensive experience in Site Reliability Engineering to implement best practices and drive continuous improvements. You will be expected to bring your expertise in DevSecOps environments, source code repositories, and CI/CD pipeline solutions to the table, ensuring that our deployment processes are efficient and secure. Your knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, and container orchestration tools will be essential in maintaining and enhancing our infrastructure. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor platform and containerized applications.
  • Identify performance and availability risks and issues.
  • Work on the core platform to create and optimize all functions needed to establish a strong platform infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the team and the customer daily.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience as an SRE with a strong understanding of SRE principles for highly scalable and reliable systems.
  • Experience working in a DevSecOps environment and with Source Code repositories and CI/CD pipeline solutions such as Team Foundation Server/Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, and GitHub.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, K8, and CI/CD Automation.
  • Experience with container orchestration tools (Rancher, OpenShift, etc.).
  • A Bachelor's degree and an active TS//SCI clearance.
