About the position

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at FIS will be responsible for maintaining the stability and reliability of the payment infrastructure. This role involves coding, configuring, implementing, and supporting various systems to ensure high availability and performance. The SRE will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to automate operations and improve the quality of service for clients, while also participating in incident management and change activities.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in day-to-day operations of the payment infrastructure.
  • Lead incident triage calls and follow up on root cause analysis.
  • Configure and deploy product releases into production, verifying quality work.
  • Participate in data center and infrastructure change activities.
  • Develop monitoring and alerting for the payments platform.
  • Identify repetitive non-value adding tasks and automate them through coding and scripting.
  • Actively participate and contribute in team meetings and team-building activities.

Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in building and supporting application infrastructure in cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of automation tools associated with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Harness).
  • Experience with networking concepts (Load Balancers, Firewalls, Virtual IPs, DNS).
  • Hands-on experience with Unix Shell Scripting and programming in Perl/Python.
  • Experience with cloud service providers (e.g., Azure) and engineering deployment technologies (containers, databases).
  • 2-3 years of experience with ITSM tools like Service Now for change management.
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective monitoring using tools like Splunk and Dynatrace.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience in developing and implementing production monitoring.
  • General knowledge of trends in the payments processing industry (e.g., RTP, ACH, Wires).
