About the position

Perkins Coie is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) specializing in automation and storage management to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our storage infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance. They will be part of the SRE team responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our enterprise systems. SREs work closely with development and operations teams to build, deploy, monitor our systems, and respond to incidents quickly and effectively. SREs engineer and support both on-prem data centers as well as Cloud technologies to ensure end-to-end system availability and scalability. The essential functions of this role include designing and deploying automated solutions for storage management tasks to improve efficiency and reduce human error. The candidate will manage and support NetApp storage environments, including ONTAP configurations, data protection, and disaster recovery strategies. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate storage solutions with cloud services and virtualization platforms is crucial. The SRE will monitor storage systems performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal operation of the storage infrastructure. Additionally, they will respond to incidents and outages as needed, automate low-level operational tasks, and participate in operational support and on-call rotation shifts for supported systems and products.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy automated solutions for storage management tasks to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
  • Manage and support NetApp storage environments, including ONTAP configurations, data protection, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate storage solutions with cloud services and virtualization platforms.
  • Monitor storage systems performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal operation of storage infrastructure.

  • Participate in operational support and on-call rotation shifts for supported systems and products.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in system administration and supporting enterprise storage solutions.
  • Experience in building, configuring, and supporting enterprise-grade storage solutions.
  • Strong understanding of storage protocols (NFS, iSCSI, FC) and networking concepts.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in NetApp technologies (NCDA, NCIE) are a plus.
