About the position

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role focuses on modernizing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to enhance healthcare delivery. The position involves designing, deploying, and optimizing Oracle Health applications, with an emphasis on automation, monitoring, and collaboration within a dynamic team. The SRE will play a crucial role in improving patient care through innovative technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Dev and Operations processes.
  • Collaborate with Dev/Test teams to integrate code and test in lower environments.
  • Promote releases to higher environments using promotion tools.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and implement robust deployment pipelines.
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks, reducing manual effort and minimizing human error risks.
  • Implement best practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting to proactively address potential issues.
  • Communicate the scale, capacity, security, and performance requirements of the service and technology stack.
  • Act as the ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues not documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and dependencies to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations.
  • Explain the impact of product architecture decisions on distributed systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or DevOps roles.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Strong background in Linux.
  • Experience with containerization technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deployment and management.
  • Familiarity with Helm for managing Kubernetes applications and deployments.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging technologies (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
  • Deep knowledge of networking protocols (TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, IPSec).
  • Experience with Terraform.
  • Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, OCI, Azure).
