About the position

The position involves managing service delivery and operational tasks for JPMorgan Chase's Electronic Trading Ultra Low Latency network. The role focuses on creating and maintaining a high-performance, reliable, and secure network infrastructure that facilitates real-time financial transactions with minimal latency. The individual will analyze and automate repetitive tasks, run various projects, design ultra-low latency networks for algorithmic trading, and serve as a technology lead while mentoring less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for service delivery and operational tasks on JPMC Electronic Trading Ultra Low Latency network.
• Create and maintain a high performance, reliable, and secure network infrastructure for real-time financial transactions.
• Analyze repetitive tasks for automation processes.
• Run assigned short-term and long-term projects.
• Design ultra-low latency (ULL) networks for algorithmic trading.
• Implement network designs using automation tools.
• Consult with lines of business or outside clients on their requirements.
• Serve as technology lead for the group.
• Troubleshoot the ULL network as necessary.
• Meet with network engineering regularly to review long-term projects.
• Mentor less experienced staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study.
• 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Site Reliability Engineer, Network Architect/Specialist, Network and Security Engineer, or related occupation.
• Experience in IP routing and switching.
• Experience with IP multicast BGP routing protocol.
• Ability to troubleshoot Ultra-low latency networks.
• Proficient in TCP/IP protocol analysis.
• Experience with firewall policy staging.
• Knowledge of Ansible automation.
• Proficient in Python scripting.
• Experience with load balancer packet filter additions.
