About the position

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role at BCforward involves ensuring optimal service performance through observability, incident management, and systems engineering. This position is designed for individuals who are proactive in improving service level indicators and monitoring solutions, and who can independently manage projects while collaborating with teams to resolve incidents effectively.

Responsibilities

• Understand observability patterns and implement service level indicators, objectives monitoring, and alerting solutions.
• Execute small to medium projects independently, progressing to designing and delivering projects autonomously.
• Participate in triaging, examining, diagnosing, and resolving incidents, collaborating with others to address root problems.
• Proactively work towards eliminating toil within the role through systems engineering.

Requirements

• Experience in site reliability engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of observability patterns and monitoring solutions.
• Ability to manage projects independently and collaboratively.
• Experience in incident management and problem resolution.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with cloud services and infrastructure management.
• Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages.
