TEKsystems is seeking junior to mid-level Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) candidates in the Pittsburgh area for a large banking client. This unique program is a collaboration between TEKsystems and the client, aimed at training candidates with just 2+ years of experience into Senior SRE roles. The program will commence with a 4-week intensive training session, which is paid, followed by an additional 5 weeks of on-the-job training, also compensated. After completing this training, candidates will be guaranteed employment for 12 months with TEKsystems, transitioning into a full-time role with the banking client thereafter. The role of a Site Reliability Engineer involves ensuring the reliability and performance of applications and infrastructure. Candidates will be responsible for application reliability engineering, which includes developing and implementing robust designs, maintenance, and security of applications. This also involves implementing monitoring systems and responding to incidents to maintain compliance and minimize service disruptions. Additionally, infrastructure reliability engineering is a key aspect of the role, where engineers will design, manage, and validate robust infrastructure systems using cloud and network technologies. They will also develop comprehensive monitoring, observability, and disaster recovery plans to ensure continuous and resilient operation of services. Performance engineering is another critical responsibility, where candidates will conduct rigorous performance testing and optimization, employing technical troubleshooting to design software reliably. They will build software process improvements and system monitoring to analyze and enhance the overall performance and efficiency of applications and systems. Collaboration is essential, as candidates will work with cross-functional technology teams to embed SRE principles and automated solutions, enhancing operational excellence throughout the enterprise.
