About the position

The Site Reliability Engineer - Consultant position is a contract role based in San Jose, CA, focusing on enhancing the reliability, performance, and availability of software systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT infrastructure, particularly in cloud technologies, automation, and deployment, and will work in a hybrid environment with a mix of onsite and remote work.

Responsibilities

• Drive reliability, performance, and availability of software systems
• Automate deployments and monitor infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency
• Bridge IT operations and software development, leveraging an engineering mindset to transform system administration

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field
• Extensive hands-on experience with distributed computing, container orchestration, and database management (SQL/NoSQL)

Nice-to-haves

• Proficient in Terraform, Kubernetes (NHS), Ansible, shell scripting, and Python
• Experience with Dynatrace, Apica, Grafana, along with cron & Airflow for script scheduling
• Strong background in AWS, Linux (RHEL/CentOS), and storage solutions like ONTAP
• Ability to build CI/CD pipelines and handle incidents effectively
