About the position

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at JPMorgan Chase is responsible for ensuring the service delivery and operational efficiency of the Electronic Trading Ultra Low Latency network. This role involves creating and maintaining a high-performance, reliable, and secure network infrastructure that facilitates real-time financial transactions with minimal latency. The SRE will analyze and automate repetitive tasks, manage both short-term and long-term projects, and design ultra-low latency networks for algorithmic trading. Additionally, the position requires troubleshooting network issues and mentoring less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for service delivery and operational tasks on JPMC Electronic Trading Ultra Low Latency network.
• Create and maintain a high performance, reliable, and secure network infrastructure.
• Analyze repetitive tasks to be implemented and defined by an automated process.
• Run assigned short-term and long-term projects.
• Design ultra-low latency (ULL) networks for algorithmic trading.
• Implement network designs using automation tools.
• Consult with the lines of business or outside clients on their requirements.
• Serve as technology lead for this group.
• Troubleshoot the ULL network as necessary.
• Meet with network engineering on a regular basis to review long term projects.
• Mentor less experienced staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study.
• 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Site Reliability Engineer, Network Architect/Specialist, Network and Security Engineer, or related occupation.
• Experience in IP routing and switching.
• Experience in IP multicast BGP routing protocol.
• Experience troubleshooting Ultra-low latency networks.
• Experience in TCP/IP protocol analysis.
• Experience in Firewall policy staging.
• Experience with Ansible automation.
• Experience in Python scripting.
• Experience with load balancer packet filter additions.
