About the position

The Site Reliability Engineer at Qlik plays a crucial role in ensuring the security, stability, and scalability of Qlik and Talend Cloud services. This position involves hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology and addresses scale challenges as the company expands to support millions of transactions across its cloud environment. The role emphasizes maintaining the reliability and availability of cloud platforms, collaborating with various teams, and driving continuous improvement in cloud practices.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the reliability and availability of cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Platforms, and Domains teams to design and develop new infrastructure features.
  • Design and develop tooling, alerts, and responses to identify and address reliability risks.
  • Analyze complex issues at the infrastructure, systems, network, and application levels.
  • Participate in on-call duties to maintain the availability and performance of cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
  • 5-7 years' experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • 5-7 years' experience working alongside a production system running on Kubernetes.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in cloud engineering, preferably with AWS and Azure.
  • Possess AWS Solutions Architect Associate and/or AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience with operating and/or building microservices.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python, Go).
  • Experience with CI/CD, cloud, and microservice autoscaling.
  • Experience with networking security and secret-management tools (e.g. Vault, AWS SSM).
  • Proficiency with observability tooling such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and SIEM such as Splunk.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical Leadership experience.
  • Certifications in networking and security domains such as CKD, CKS, AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty, AWS Certified Security Specialty.
