About the position

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Kforce Inc is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of highly distributed multi-tiered systems. This role involves a combination of production support, development, and site reliability engineering, focusing on automation and cloud development, particularly within AWS environments. The SRE will work collaboratively in a dynamic environment, managing multiple responsibilities while implementing advanced observability practices and maintaining system scalability and resiliency.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the reliability and performance of distributed systems at scale.
  • Deploy and support highly distributed multi-tiered systems.
  • Automate processes using various scripting languages.
  • Implement advanced observability practices and techniques.
  • Manage and interpret large datasets using query languages and visualization tools.
  • Perform root cause analysis and triage issues under pressure.
  • Collaborate with teams to build and operate resilient platforms in AWS Cloud Environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology related field (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology).
  • 5+ years of hybrid experience in Production Support, Development, and SRE.
  • 2-4+ years of experience in software development with Python, NodeJS, Java.
  • 2-4+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes and app deployment.
  • 2+ years of experience in cloud development (AWS) and migration skills.
  • Strong hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Python and Shell Scripting.
  • Solid understanding of Cloud Computing and DevOps concepts including CI/CD Pipelines.
  • Expert experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog, Splunk).
  • Experience in maintaining scalability and resiliency in complex environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS and AWS/EKS certifications are a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile Software Development Methodologies.
