About the position

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Aras, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security, availability, performance, efficiency, change management, and monitoring of our cloud services. Reporting to the Manager of Cloud Services Operation, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining customer cloud environments for operating the Aras PLM Platform. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about developing their skills and those of their peers to provide customers with the best experience possible with our SaaS offerings. You will collaborate with a world-class engineering team to drive excellent customer experiences and leverage your passion and knowledge towards next-generation capabilities. In this role, you will work closely with DevOps, support, and development teams, utilizing cutting-edge technology in the cloud, preferably Microsoft Azure. You will implement automation to continuously reduce toil for customer operations using CI/CD processes. As part of a team that introduces new technologies, you will deploy services to multiple cloud environments and regions. Your responsibilities will also include solving technical problems, guiding various teams (both internal and external), and continually improving our systems, deployments, operations, monitoring, and overall cloud activities and costs. You will provide technical expertise and ownership in diagnosing and remediating security and privacy issues related to our Managed Services offerings, which will involve both internal and external technical communication. Setting up cross-region environments using automated or manual procedures will be part of your duties, as well as responding to customer support issues related to these environments. Staying updated with industry knowledge of the latest trends, technology, and practices is essential, and you will participate in on-call shifts as required.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain customer cloud environments for operating the Aras PLM Platform.
  • Work closely with DevOps, support, and development teams.
  • Implement automation to continuously reduce toil for customer operations using CI/CD processes.
  • Be part of a team that introduces new technologies and deploys services to multiple cloud environments and regions.
  • Solve technical problems, guide various teams (internal & external), and continually improve our systems, deployments, operations, monitoring, and overall cloud activities and costs.
  • Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and remediation of security and privacy issues of the Managed Services offerings.
  • Set up cross-region environments using automated or manual procedures.
  • Respond to customer support issues related to these environments.
  • Maintain industry knowledge of the latest trends, technology, and practices.
  • Participate in on-call shifts as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working in cloud computing, virtualization, and containers experience - Docker and K8S.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a desire to take on responsibility.
  • Advanced networking knowledge - Load balancers, Firewalls, VPNs, TCP/IP - troubleshooting, performance tuning.
  • Monitoring systems and SLA tracking.
  • Hands-on experience administering and supporting high-scale Production workloads.
  • Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Additional languages are desirable.
