About the position

As an SRE Group Manager at PNC, you will lead teams of Site Reliability Engineers to enhance the reliability, quality, and time-to-market of complex software solutions. This role involves managing projects, conducting root cause analyses, and collaborating with various teams to ensure that systems align with business objectives. You will foster a culture of learning from failures, promote innovative solutions, and oversee the technical direction of the SRE function across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage teams of Site Reliability Engineers across multiple operating sites and applications.
• Conduct thorough root cause analyses for incidents and outages.
• Analyze metrics and logs to derive insights and actions.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and business teams to ensure reliability and performance.
• Create clear and comprehensive documentation for systems and processes.
• Encourage a culture of learning from failures and reporting issues without fear of retribution.
• Develop new ideas and initiatives to manage application reliability and performance.
• Build strategies to mitigate risks based on impact and probability.
• Lead technical initiatives and set the vision for the SRE function.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and senior engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of industry-relevant experience.
• 5+ years of prior management experience.
• Proven leadership experience with moderate to large scope of responsibility.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
