About the position

The Site Superintendent III position at Rock Cut State Park involves overseeing the maintenance and operations of the park, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing site activities. The role requires strong supervisory and communication skills to coordinate with staff and the public, as well as to handle emergency situations and implement site management plans.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and participates in the maintenance of site grounds, facilities, and equipment.
• Inspects facilities for preventative maintenance.
• Monitors and implements site security/safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Travels on and off site for meetings and inspections.
• Responds to emergency situations including weather incidents, accidents, and security issues.
• Reviews and incorporates proposals from specialists concerning site management plans.
• Supervises and conducts research related to site restoration and development.
• Develops and implements public information materials and programs.
• Promotes department programs and activities.
• Serves as department representative at various meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in park and recreation administration, natural resource area administration, museum administration, history, American studies, or archeology.
• Four years of supervisory experience in managing an outdoor recreational park, natural public area, or cultural/historic site.
