Heartbeat Music and Performing Arts Academy is actively looking for an experience Site Supervisor that can oversee a site with little to no supervisor. The academy provides complimentary childcare for our full-time staff and emphasizes ongoing education and professional development opportunities for its staff. Definition Under the direct supervision of the Early Childhood Education Director, the Site Supervisor Support will be responsible for ensuring the overall supervision and quality of an assigned site. The Site Supervisor is also responsible for the care and development of children ages Infants to Kindergarten, ensuring compliance with the California Department of Education, Early Learning and Care Development, Title 5 Funding Terms and Conditions, and Title 22 mandates, providing ongoing monitoring support of site staff, namely Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Volunteers/Interns and serving as part of the enrollment team. In the absence of the Early Childhood Education Director receive information from the Community Care Licensing Analyst and conduct on-site inspection as needed. Responsibilities - Monitoring assigned classrooms to ensure developmentally appropriate planning, supervising, and implementing the program in accordance with the policies, procedures, and philosophies of the CA Department of Education, Early Learning Care, and Development, Title 5 Funding Terms and Conditions, Title 22 guidelines, and agency mission. - Ensuring that each teacher completes weekly observations of children and compilation of each child's portfolio and writing journals. - Ensuring that each class completes ongoing assessments of children within the Desired Result Developmental Profile (DRDP) timelines for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. - Monitoring the formulation of short and long-term goals for each child based on assessments and in conjunction with teaching team and parent input. - Observing assigned classrooms to ensure programs meet the individual needs of each child incorporating interests, strengths, weaknesses, and cultural and linguistic diversity. - Assist with the observation and referral of children suspected of special needs. -Working in conjunction with support staff and parents in the Student Study Team Process and Behavior Plans, assist with the development of weekly learning plans for children with IEP or IFSP using DRDP Access. - Review bi-monthly lesson plans providing input and/or feedback. Submit bi- monthly curriculum-related materials requests within a specific timeline to the Early Childhood Education Director. - Conduct monthly ECERS/ITERS and Child Development Monitoring Report of assigned classroom. Establish Reflective Supervision content for staff development and monitoring as required. - Observe and monitor order, arrangement, design, appearance, and learning environment of the classrooms and the maintenance and upkeep of learning materials and equipment of center. - Reviewing site Supply Request and Work Repair Request and forward to Facilities Coordinator as required. - Conducting weekly facilities Health and Safety Checklist, submitting Work and Repair Request within one working day of noted health and safety issues, addressing site needs. - Assume equal share of the housekeeping responsibilities as necessary. - Participate in parent teacher conferences as the need arises (i.e., IEP concerns, 60 Day Transition Meeting, Unusual Incident Report Follow Up). - Participate in program evaluations (DRDP, ECERS, ITERS, CACFP Site Monitoring, Child Development Monitoring Report) and providing input and developing Plan of Action as needed on a monthly basis. - Provide input for annual evaluation of center staff and conducting “Reflective Supervision” in a timely manner. - Serve as Mentor Teacher for Teachers and Teaching Assistants to provide guidance and increase teaching skills and classroom management. Conduct center orientations as needed. - Serve as substitute teaching staff when required. - Facilitate trainings as needed (i.e., Creative Curriculum, Desired Results, ESRS, Pre-K). - Participate in Foundation and community events as needed. - Attend scheduled meeting and training as needed (PAC, SPAC). - Distribute all necessary information to staff and parents in a timely manner (i.e., Newsletters, Flyers, training, PAC notices). - Other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Possession of a Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in Early Childhood Studies or a similar field. Must have a Site Supervisor/Director's Permit or must be eligible to apply for a Site Supervisor/Director's Permit. Must possess 6 units of Infant Toddler Early Childhood Units and completion of approved Infant Toddler Training Program. A valid Site Supervisor Permit, 5 Years' experience as a Preschool Teacher, and 2 Years of Supervisory Experience. Must be computer literate, highly proficient in oral and written English, Bi-lingual preferred. Physical clearance (Physical and TB Screening) and Background Clearance are required prior to the start of employment.
