About the position

The Site Supervisor at Heartbeat Music and Performing Arts Academy is responsible for overseeing the quality and supervision of an assigned site, ensuring compliance with educational standards and regulations. This role involves monitoring classrooms, supporting staff development, and fostering a nurturing environment for children from infants to kindergarten. The Site Supervisor will work closely with the Early Childhood Education Director and participate in various assessments and evaluations to promote the overall development of children in the program.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring assigned classrooms to ensure developmentally appropriate planning and implementation of the program.
  • Ensuring that each teacher completes weekly observations of children and compiles each child's portfolio and writing journals.
  • Ensuring that each class completes ongoing assessments of children within the Desired Result Developmental Profile (DRDP) timelines.
  • Monitoring the formulation of short and long-term goals for each child based on assessments and input from teaching teams and parents.
  • Observing assigned classrooms to ensure programs meet the individual needs of each child, incorporating their interests and cultural diversity.
  • Assisting with the observation and referral of children suspected of special needs.
  • Working with support staff and parents in the Student Study Team Process and Behavior Plans to develop weekly learning plans for children with IEP or IFSP.
  • Reviewing bi-monthly lesson plans and providing input or feedback.
  • Conducting monthly ECERS/ITERS and Child Development Monitoring Reports of assigned classrooms.
  • Observing and monitoring the learning environment and maintenance of materials and equipment.
  • Conducting weekly facilities Health and Safety Checklists and submitting Work and Repair Requests for noted issues.
  • Participating in parent-teacher conferences as needed.
  • Participating in program evaluations and providing input for developing Plans of Action.
  • Providing input for annual evaluations of center staff and conducting Reflective Supervision.
  • Serving as Mentor Teacher for Teachers and Teaching Assistants to enhance teaching skills and classroom management.
  • Facilitating trainings as needed and participating in community events.
  • Distributing necessary information to staff and parents in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in Early Childhood Studies or a similar field.
  • Must have a Site Supervisor/Director's Permit or be eligible to apply for one.
  • Completion of 6 units of Infant Toddler Early Childhood Units and an approved Infant Toddler Training Program.
  • A valid Site Supervisor Permit, 5 years' experience as a Preschool Teacher, and 2 years of Supervisory Experience.
  • Computer literate and highly proficient in oral and written English; bilingual preferred.
  • Physical clearance (Physical and TB Screening) and Background Clearance required prior to employment.
