About the position

The Site Supervisor at Twigs to Trees Child Development Center plays a crucial role in managing daily operations and ensuring a safe, high-quality early childhood education program. This position involves supporting curriculum planning, evaluating staff performance, organizing center-wide activities, and fostering effective communication with families and staff. The Site Supervisor is expected to lead by example, creating a nurturing and engaging environment that aligns with the center's values of positive child development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all program operations in compliance with State licensing regulations; establish an engaging and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
  • Conduct classroom observations, mentor and evaluate staff, provide guidance on lesson planning, and ensure staff adhere to behavior management techniques and instructional standards.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement a play-based, nature-inspired curriculum that supports children's physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including Title 5 and Title 22 standards, CCL and state and local regulations.
  • Maintain accurate daily attendance, health and nutrition records, and participate in the CACFP program; ensure all necessary documentation is complete for DRDPs, action plans, IEP/IFSP requirements, and tracking of ASQs.
  • Monitor building maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of classrooms, play areas, and restrooms to meet safety standards; handle minor injuries and emergencies per health policy.
  • Communicate regularly with families to update them on children's progress, center activities, and any concerns; maintain professional and supportive relationships with families.
  • Actively recruit, interview, and recommend candidates to maintain staffing levels, ensuring a smooth, high-quality experience for children and staff.
  • Monitor the enrollment process, maintain the waitlist, and support the eligibility requirements for state funded programs.
  • Plan and organize events like holiday celebrations, graduation, and cultural days to foster a sense of community; assist with center marketing and social media to promote programs and events.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to ensure smooth operations and support the center's goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 12 ECE units (including 3 units each in administration, supervised field experience, infant/toddler care, and human development) preferred.
  • Associate's degree with 24 ECE units (including required courses) plus 350 days (at least 3 hours/day) experience in an early childhood setting, including 100 days of supervisory experience as an alternative.
  • Prior experience in early childhood education, with a background in supervision or management is preferred.
  • Must hold or be eligible for a Child Development Site Supervisor or Childcare Center Director permit.
  • Knowledge of DRDP, CLASS, ECERS, CDMIS, and CCTR standards is preferred.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
