About the position

The Site Talent Acquisition Specialist at Freeport-McMoRan plays a crucial role in supporting the Colorado operations and the Phoenix Talent Acquisition team. This position is responsible for overseeing talent acquisition efforts, ensuring that hiring goals are met, and providing strategic solutions to enhance the recruitment process. The specialist will develop strong relationships with business leaders and hiring managers, manage the candidate process flow, and lead recruitment events to attract potential candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee talent acquisition efforts and ensure site hiring goals are met.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, hiring managers, and Site HR.
  • Attend leadership and workforce planning discussions as a liaison for candidate pipeline matters.
  • Manage real-time requisition and candidate process flow within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Create a positive hiring experience by providing updates to candidates and hiring managers.
  • Review applications to ensure alignment with minimum qualifications and conduct additional screenings as needed.
  • Initiate background checks, prepare pay models, and extend offers as an agent of the company.
  • Monitor and track completion of pre-hire requirements including drug tests and medical exams.
  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports and presentations for Site HR and Talent Acquisition leadership.
  • Lead talent acquisition events and job fairs to network with potential candidates.
  • Provide functional guidance and training to peers and contractors.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED and six (6) years of Talent Acquisition/HR-related experience, OR a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of Talent Acquisition/HR-related experience.
  • Understanding of EEO and Affirmative Action policies.
  • Knowledge of employment law as it relates to hiring practices.
  • Familiarity with common recruiting processes, procedures, and sourcing techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive knowledge of Colorado employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience in a Human Resources function including recruiting activities or within an employment/placement agency.
  • Intermediate level experience with Excel.
  • Experience generating recruiting reports and metrics.
