About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Freeport-McMoRan plays a vital role in supporting the company's hiring efforts for its Colorado operations. This position involves collaborating with business leaders and the Talent Acquisition team to meet hiring goals, manage the recruitment process, and ensure a positive candidate experience. The specialist will also be responsible for training on the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), generating reports, and leading recruitment events.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee talent acquisition efforts and ensure site hiring goals are met.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, hiring managers, and Site HR.
  • Attend leadership and workforce planning discussions as a liaison for candidate pipeline matters.
  • Manage requisition and candidate process flow within the ATS.
  • Create a positive hiring experience by providing updates to candidates and hiring managers.
  • Review applications to ensure alignment with minimum qualifications.
  • Conduct additional screening and initiate background checks.
  • Prepare pay models and extend offers as an agent of the company.
  • Monitor and track completion of pre-hire requirements including drug tests and medical exams.
  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports and presentations for Site HR and Talent Acquisition leadership.
  • Lead talent acquisition events and job fairs to network with potential candidates.
  • Provide support with screening, interviewing, and presenting at recruitment events.
  • Lead Talent Acquisition projects and team trainings to meet department initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with recruitment agencies.
  • Provide guidance and training to peers and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with EEO, OFCCP, and Affirmative Action policies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED and six (6) years Talent Acquisition/HR-related experience, OR Bachelor's degree and three (3) years Talent Acquisition/HR-related experience.
  • Understanding of EEO and Affirmative Action policies.
  • Knowledge of employment law as it relates to hiring practices.
  • Knowledge of common recruiting processes, procedures, and sourcing techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive knowledge of Colorado employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience working in a Human Resources function including recruiting activities or within an employment/placement agency.
  • Intermediate level experience working with Excel.
  • Experience generating recruiting reports and metrics.
