About the position

The Cybersecurity Analyst at Peraton will support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3, focusing on maintaining network operations and providing cybersecurity support for USSOCOM and its components. This role involves investigating security incidents, maintaining network infrastructure, and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data across various platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate alerts, anomalies, errors, intrusions, and malware to identify the extent of security incidents.
  • Maintain multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices, and network management systems.
  • Perform systems administration, maintenance, and computer security for servers on networks.
  • Conduct changes to routers, switches, and encryption devices as needed.
  • Recommend improvements to automated information system security policies.
  • Operate a services support program providing systems administration and maintenance for servers.
  • Conduct system, security, and operational testing/evaluation events.
  • Test to ensure Government data is protected from unauthorized disclosure and remains under Government control.
  • Verify configuration and protections of data flows between applications and cloud infrastructure.
  • Detect network intrusions and cyber incidents, alerting the Government of possible attacks.
  • Assist in incident response and monitor systems security.
  • Conduct log file analysis using tools such as Remedy and Splunk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience in cybersecurity or related field; 4 years with an Associate's degree; 6 years without a degree.
  • Experience with SIEM, log analysis, vulnerability analysis, and scripting.
  • DoD 8570.01M IAT AND CSSP Analyst or CSSP Incident Responder certification required.
  • Top Secret clearance or higher is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and encryption technologies.
  • Familiarity with network security best practices and incident response procedures.
